George Wentz

age when nominated: 95

city: Battle Creek

George Wentz is 95 years old and has been a volunteer for area blood drives since 1985. For the past 10 years, George has also baked homemade cookies for the donors. In addition, George has a wood shop where he has made hundreds of cars he sends to missionaries as toys for children. He also gives them out randomly to children in area restaurants (if they behave). George lost his left eye when he was in his 20's from a woodworking accident, but has not let that stop him. In his photo George is posing with a dish of his homemade pumpkin cookies, his 30 year certificate from the Red Cross and a few of his cars. This man is a true inspiration!
